You can fit a dawes temporarily and adjust it to whatever level of boost you want up to fuel cut.....

Its running around 15psi at the min but getting problems of misfire at high revs just want to limit boost to see if this helps. How much is the dawes boost controller. Never thought of adjusting rod may look into it. I just want to drop it below 14psi as misfire? seems to of come in cold weather when getting slightly more boost.

That misfire sounds like fuelcut to me if it's come on in the cold, well maybe?? a dawes is about 35quid, but if you want to reduce the boost to about 1/2 bar (7psi ish) just connect a tube from the inlet impeller boost control feed pipe to the actuator..... thats what i did when my car went into a bodyshop to have some work done!

Or, this is £20 quid delivered....

Default question

RON sounds like you had a lot to do with them slight problem or not?
i have 02 wrx running pre turbo and post turbo decats, mil illiminator on rear o2 sensor and resistor in place of up pipe egt sensor, kn pannel filter sti 7 tmic and scoop, trying to fit blitz boost controller, once fitted and set to around 15 psi, feels fine in 1st 2nd gears can detect slight hesitation but if in 4th 5th gears say 50 60 ish on motorway floor it to overtake somet slow in my way the car seems to miss fire quite badly the boost level is not stable in the way the engine power drops and all of a sudden it all comes back in resulting in around 17 psi then back down and up etc, the fuel cut you mention when ever i have detected this on classic scoobs you hit the windscreen, but limited experience on the bug eyes, just wondering if the fuel cut is different in the way it can be described as a stutter splutter? any input greatlly appreciated from everyone

Thats what i've been wondering if the fuel cut is not as bad as they mention on posts and so what seems like a misfire is indeed fuel cut, which is why i'm going to try limiting the boost slightly to see if this eliminates the problem.

Sounds to me like both cars are getting fuel cut to be honest.
Brunny, yours sounds to me as though you've done enough to warrant having it remapped..... you probably should have had it done already to be honest.....

yes just seems to be if we try to raise over 29 psi compared to total relative vacuum ie 1 bar 14.5 psi boost 2 bar map sensor limit we getting slight fuel cut?? thats what i am starting to think.

RON you right but as having the LM1 motorsports AFR device i have checked my fuelling and know its okish thats why no remap YET just waiting to get the ihi vf 22 turbo walbro pump injectors and andy forrest remap, will add from buying the car 18 month ago me being a sucker for manufactures oils i have ran the car on ( i know bad **** now)my hand book says 5w30 semi for 25000 miles, to be advised to run at least 10w40 semi which admittadly when ever i do a oil change now the car seems to run better ( its always had a driveability problem) especially when ac sytem on, it drove miles better within 24 hours of switching to 10w40, obviously the hydraulic tappets not fully jacked up resulting in inadequate valve opening also probably wear on valves stems, possible bad seats?? i may be looking at head rebuilds?? but will fit turbo etc as mentioned remap see if it works if not motors coming out rebuild her, god damn that 5w30 shif

In the end disconnected boost solenoid which kept the boost at a lower level and still had the misfire although you almost couldn't tell, but at least that elimates fuel cut off.
