Default Misfire Hesitation 95 WRX

Am getting hesitation after increasing boost pressure from 1.1 to 1.2 Bar and changing to HKS Hiper from downpipe back.

Changed all coil packs with no effect.

Happening even under low boost pressure and showing up on first two knock link lights.
Only changed spark plugs couple of months back....

Does not seem severe enough for fuel cut.

Have armval manual boost controller and chipped ECU.

Any ideas? Think it could still be the plugs?

Have you tried taking the boost pressure back down to 1.1 to see if this gets rid of the problem? It might be a fuelling issue with your chip settings.

Can I buy your old coils off you ;-) ???

I get a lumpy sort of running from cold in my 02 STI...

No problems starting or when the car has been running for 5 mins, its just the initial running from cold...

Is this a similar problem do you think?.. car has just had 60,000 miles service including plugs and I have just bought the car..

any info greatfully received..

Sorry Neonfury. All the coils already spoken for.

Hesitation happens whatever the revs.
Started as a big power dip in 1st at about 4200-4500 and has now spread through all gears at all revs.
Comes and goes but not dependant on engine temp.

I was getting alot of hesistation/surging above 5k revs although below this car was usually fine although after getting problem sorted it was a lot smoother at low revs.

Took it to garage and found that there was two problems one being a neutural diff switch (which tells the ecu when your in neutral) was faulty (been set off by vibration which is why it was usually at high revs) telling ecu when driving in other gears that I was also in neutral which then changes ecu to limp home mode with every vibration that sets off switch which gives poor performance and jerky ride.

After finding this though my car had then developed a misfired at 5 1/2Krevs onwards which i found to be that 2 of my piston rings are failing causing loss of compression at high revs. Look out for your engine turning over very quickly on start up.

Ive been getting this too but when i eventualy manage to get the car roasting it goes away reckon it could be something to do with the lambda sensor as its heater wasnt working correctly its getting replaced today for the MOT i'll let you know what the outcome is if its running better maybe you have a similar problem.?

Plugs were pretty black for the short time they have been in. Changed them and it is running fine.

Any suggestions as to why they have mucked up so quick?

Could it be lambda sensor?
