Default Which intercooler for td05 16g?

Just treat myself to a new turbo (as above) for my MY00 UK.
Going to have a new intercooler added when the turbo is fitted.
Will a STi 5 intercooler be upto the job?

I'm after circa 320 bhp.

Current mods are full de-cat, panel filter and tek3 re-map (will be re-mapped when the turbo is fitted).

I'll have a new fuel pump fitted aswell.

Any other recommendations (preferably TMIC's).

Cheers

I have an intercooler off a newage wrx.... not to hard to fit, and bigger than the STI5 one aswell..... and best of all, it looks reasonably standard!

sp, thats is my my00 with TDO5 aswell as full decat, and K&N induction.... recently got 287 on the rollers, at a mere 4750 odd rpm, then it knocked back for some reason, so remapping will sort that, also started to use better fuel.... so shouldn't be too far off 310-320 when finished....

the sti5 IC is no bigger than your own IC. As Ron says you could fit a wrx new age with not too much effort or go for a sti7/8 one which is even bigger but requires a lot more effort to fit.
sti7 one here

What's required with fitting a newage wrx intercooler?
Also, will I need a new recirc valve?

Matt you will need new age dump valve as the flange it bolts on is different. I retained mine as it was a forge item and changed the flange for a new age one. On the new age the pipe work from dump valve goes straight down from the dv then under IC. on the classic it comes out to the right.

I run an aps fmic with 16g but if I was doing it again I would try a sti newage top mount and "harvey" ported headers.

do you mean the r/r operator lifted due to knock? ,with you running a dawes the ecu cannot cut boost

HI John, no the operator didn't lift, he kept going, but the plot showed a definate dip at those revs, he reckoned it was cos i was running tesco 99.... (don't go there!!) also, the ecu hasn't been mapped specifically for my car yet, but i'll be getting the tek3 tweeked shortly i think..... the operator reckoned there'd be more to come if Optimax was used, but with that peak power being so low on the rev range, i'm hoping that once mapped the curve will keep going....
Mind you, the torque was 305lbft from about 3200 right through to 47?? then that dipped aswell... hence the assumption.....

Looks mint, and would be my preferred option tbh.
What exactly is involved with fitted one, is it just brackets need making, or anything else?
