Default Motec ECU Help

Just put my M48R Pro into someone elses car, and it just turns the car over and doesn't fire. No attempt to either.

Got the cable and the software, what do I have to look for to find out why it won't start?

It is the rally-style one that plugs in without a loom adaptor. Came out of my Version 3, going into a Version 4 RA. Just turns and doesn't fire.

Communicates with the laptop fine.

Any help appreciated.

RA might have a fifth injector, but I don't think there is much else in it if even that!

I would advise speaking to pavlo/pat/rob on this one.

Version 3 and 4 are the same 97/98 loom are they not?

Or do you mean the motec has a specific wiring loom?

Simon - No Jap Spec. Do you have to swap around any wires anyway? If so which ones just incase for some reason they are around the wrong way...

if both Jap and the loom on your car unmodified then you shouldn't need to consider it.

Not that I could tell.

Anything to do with the cam and crank sensor inputs?

the uk and jap differ with regards to crank and cam position sensor pins and the fuel pump pin... but as going from jap to jap then shouldn't be an issue.

B137 (26way connector) 7 and 17 is the fuel pump relay wire for cars with and without immobilizers (UK/Euro/Oz and JDM).

B136 (22way connector) 8 & 10 are cam and crank sensors

It could just be the map isn't suitable, if you took it from a JDM spec car and put it in a JDM spec car the pinouts will/should be ok
