Will higher boost rob me of lower down power?
Howsit guys
I have a pretty standard MY98 running a 57mm zorst and unichip.
Boosting 0.875 bar of boost and power is coming in nicely in 1st, 2nd and first half of 3rd gear. After that though it just runs out of steam. No turbo upgrade wanted for the moment
Just wondering if upping the boost would rob me of lower down power i.e. would the longer spool up cause more lag lower down. Thinking of running around 1bar to 1.1 bar.
Cheers
Edwin

It shouldn't rob you of low down power like for like.
If, say the turbo is hitting the 0.875 bar at 3000rpm on its current map, then if you raise boost to 1.1 bar, it'll hit 1.1 at, say 3300rpm but it'll still get to .0875 at 3000rpm on the way.
