check engine light!

Default check engine light!

hi can anyone help me have rebuilt my my 98 and everything has been fine for 1000 miles but with the last few really cold days has devolped fault and the check engine light comes on after starting for about 2 mins then goes off i have never seen this before ,i have put megan headers on when rebuilt and wonder if these are causing a cold start fault. has anyone experienced this

mine does that bloody worrying m8 aint it i was told to disconnect the battery for 5 mins hope it helps

Question

My old MY00 UK turbo did this last year once going down the motorway at speed one cold morning...
Had the fault codes read, come back O2 sensor and MAF... Maybe yours are on the way out and giving false readings...

Best to read the fault codes and see what the CEL is for mate.

have read fault codes and comes up with knock sensor as knackered have done reset on ecu by disconnecting battery and by manualy restting and has gone out only to come back on when i turn car off. will try my mates sensor and see if makes any difference

probably a bust knock sensor then or/ and maf sensor?
