Default Just remapped, does it need it again?

Hi ,

I have just had my car remapped recently after having an exhaust fitted on my 2005 wrx. I was quite happy with the results as the Bhp (flywheel) was 270 exactly and very similar torque. This was enough power for about a week!! Then I saw a Megan Racing Manifold and have read good reviews about the power increase estimated at approx 25bhp and similar torque.

I have now bought it and wonder if my car would need mapping again?

Any ideas?

Thanks

Gaz

yes, ideally you would need it remapping once more. The cost though should be a heck of a lot less than the first map as all the hard work has been done and it will just require tweaking.

stick an nice new turbo on to make it worth while, not sure the headers alone will make the differnce you want

don't relay on + 25bhp on your td04,

http://andyforrestperformance.co.uk/28210.html makes for some good reading

Fitting the headers will effectively remove the cat in the up-pipe aswell... so defo needs a re-map....

I know adding a different turbo would give a good increase but I don't want to mess about with things like that really. I have had bad luck with things like that in the past.

AndyF is currently testing the Megan Headers. I know I should have waited for the outcome first to see the longevity of them. I will let you know if/when they blow and what the outcome is power wise.

Whatever you do dont buy the megans. get the gruppe S ones instead.
Megans are prone to splitting. Got gruppe S on mine you'll never look back

i'm sure i was reading it the other day and andy f states that the megan headers are not very good and that he preferes the ported standard headers. your thinking about a remap after putting the headers on think about the remap when you blow the **** out of them and have to change it for a different one again.i had the choice of some hks headers and saw some ported ones. i bought the ported ones and going for the apexi power fc its being fitted and mapped today

My Gruppe S headers needed replacing in less than 2 years Split across the collecter joint and the up-pipe flexi split.

Has anyone tried the GT spec headers (GTII) or the ceramic coated ones?
