I would guess that the smaller ECU is a diff controller and your car is an STI RA. The factory engine ECU is the one in the passenger footwell. What exactly do you want to know?

the car is an sti ra 95 with a dccd ..we are turning it into a rally car and have took out the wiring for hand brake .i have since found out that when you pull the handbrake on it cuts out the diff so you can do handbrake turns ..if this is wright i need to know how to put them back as the guy who took them out didnt take any notice

okay well that explains that. The handbrake does unlock the diff, but you may also consider doing some other changes like making the diff lock with with brake pedal. I wired in my own DCCD into a non-dccd car, so should be able to dig out some info.

The early diff controller are very easy to wire up, if you still have most of the origianl car loom then you just need to add the handbrake wire in to get it back to standard. Handbrake is pin 8 on the larger of the 2 plugs

Or if you have no wiring at all for it make up a small loom for the diff ecu, all you need is power and ground, thuumbwheel, handbrake and a pair of wires for the diff coil.

I did this in my V2 sti when i went to RA runnning gear.

If you are building a competition car then budget for a diff controller and wire it up properly. So many people dont bother but it makes so much difference

iv got the whole car and loom but i want to cut out the dccd part of the loom so i can run it in any shell with ease

i want to wire the clocks thumbwheel and dccd ecu in

there are 2 plugs on the dccd controller are you saying one is redundant?

il get info and wire colours on it soon and put up what ivb got and then if you are up on the ecelctronics then that would be a good help

if not im gonna have to cut the loom to pieces to see what gos where and try and sort it out

im really struggling to determine the lives and earths etc as wire chop and splice into eachother in about four or five places

il confirm what wires do this when im nearer the car

cheers

early controllers are 2 plug, later ones are single plug.

You can pull out all the diff wiring from an OEM loom, just take your time and follow it through. You dont need to connect to the clocks to make it work

Easiest way is to make up a loom to be honest. In fact, i have my one that i could sell you?

PM me if you are interested,
