HELP smoking from under timing belt & clucth fork
hi,
I got smoke coming from just underneath my timing belt, the mechanic goes that its likely to be oil leaking (i think he said crank shaft) on the exhaust pipe, he goes its a big job he has to remove the timing belt to find and repair the fault, he goes it a common fault (he use to own a subaru) he gave me a cash price of £220.
secondly my clucth keeps getting stuck everytime i change gears fast. now he goes that its my clucth fork, but for him to get to that he will have to take the gear box out or something. for which he gave me a cash price of £230.
and for both jobs cash price of £350
now is that what the problems are with the car? and is the prices he has given me about right?
You Help and advice Please (I based in N.W.London)
Thanks

oil leak at the front sounds like crank seal.. if he is good at his job then that is a good price.
check there is a spring on the return fork under the intercooler.. also that the pedal is adjusted correctly..
