Default Fuel System Problems

Have having very big problems getting car to start (it won't!!!)

Have checked the fuel pump and there is no power going to it.

What could this be? Fuses seem ok. Relay?

If it is the relay which one is it, as there seem to be lots of relays!!!

Cheers

Gary

Try the connection under the rear seat if it a Classic. The relay is above the interior fuse box behind the dash. There are 3 relays there and i think the fuel pump is the silver one.

Right, am starting to get somewhere.

Have had a much better look, at the pump one of the live wires has a constant 4v and the other goes up to 10-12v when cranked.

I would now presume the pump is not working? Sound right?

Yep the 4v will be for the fuel gauge and the 12v for the pump.Double check the earth or even put a temp earth in.If the pump still doesnt go then i'd say its knackered. Or to be 100% take the pump out and wire direct and see if it runs, you really need to be also looking at the pump connections within the tank to be sure the feed is going to the pump.
