Question Model Info - WRX RA & WRX STi RA

Does the WRX RA come with the DCCD gearbox or is it just the WRX STi RA that has this?

Any other differences between the two models apart from STi building the engine?

Wieght of each car?

Thanks for your help.

The WRX RA does not have the DCCD, no water spray, no roof vent and no close ratio steering rack. Only the STI RA has the above.
It does however have ABS, close ratio gearbox and closed deck block.

Indeed what you need is the STI RA

V2 willl have a closed deck block, 380cc injectors, slanty intercooler, possibly a td05 turbo and the pre face lift front end

V3 will have an open deck block, 440cc injectors, straight intercooler, vf23 turbo, 4 pot brakes and the face lift front end.

V4 as above but will have the updated white dial interior and vf24 turbo

V5 and V6 as above but in addition will have the crystal front end, larger rear wing, STI/RAYS wheels, VF28 turbo.

Thats what i can remember off the top of my head, sure someone will correct me if i missed anything or got anything wrong.

regards banny

Great info there Banny,

I assume the STi RA has ABS?

Did all STi RA's come with electric pack and aircon or do some have windy windows & no aircon?

I also seemt to remember reading the STi RA is nearly 200KG heavier then WRX RA Must be all the electric stuff.

Thanks.

The STI RA does not have ABS as this is not compaible with the DCCD.
The STI's do have the electrics and air-con, the windy windows and no aircon is normally associated with the wrx-ra. Weight wise there will probably be a difference of about 50kgs at most.

As standard, the Wrx Ra and the STi Ra have no ABS, no air-con, no electric windows/mirrors.

They both have I/C water spray. Weight difference is 30 Kg for the ver2 cars (1170Kg v 1200Kg).

This is incorrect. V5 and 6 WRX RA does come with ABS and does not come with waterspray. Early WRX RAs (non-sti) do come with waterspray as it was needed for homolagation purposes.

Regards electric packs - this is variable, many WRX and STI RAs had them fitted as an option out of the factory which went against the grain of the Race Altered (lightweight) ethos.

I'm talking about the standard models (wrx Ra), not the special edition Limited ones.
