Correct Oil Temp....Help
Does anyone out ther know what the normal oil temp would be for a MY01 WRX , I have had a Digital SPA gauge for ages and am about to fit it.for ease I have mounted the sensor in a purpose made brass sump plug. The car is completely de-catted and Ecutek 3. And what temps should I not want to see so I can programme a warning.

Oil temp will vary with the viscosity of oil used, the ambient temperature and how hard you drive the vehicle.
Manufacturers of good quality fully synthetic say that their products are OK up to 140 deg C.
In normal road driving at this time of year you can expect anywhere from 75-100 deg. subject to the variables. Different cars, different temps.
On track, if my oil gets to 125 deg C in mid summer I take a breather.
Keep the revs down and only the mildest boost until your engine is fully warmed through. On a cold winter day with slush etc you can do 15-20mls and still hardly achieve operating temps. In summer this can be 6-10mls.
