Right as some of you no my Impreza 2003 WRX is smoking ONLY on Idle.
Main dealer took it in and said they found a Oil leak at the rocker cover and that it could of been driping on the exhaust and causing it to smoke.
Now when i say it Smokes IT PROPER SMOKES.lol
It smells oily to.

Now if it would smoke at the front id get a oil smell in the car and smoke at the front wouldnt i?

Any help would be great!!

Hi Wayne, if it was oil dripping onto the exhaust, the only smoke you'd see would be from the front of the car, in the engine bay etc.. if its coming from the tail pipe, it's something else for sure.. have you been keeping an eye on oil consumption, using more than usual?

Its defo been using more oil but then the main dealer said that it did have a oil leak at the roker cover.

What, oil from the tailpipe?? eek! if that's the case, nothing to do with a leaking rocker cover gasket.. suggest another trip to the dealer..

smoke from the exhaust is bad and not a rocker cover gasket as BrynO says.

Could be a few quite bad things such as failing turbo seals Unless you did something silly like over fill the oil?

The oil was overfilled once on the car and driven for a few miles but the oil was let out again.

The main dealer are treating me like a fool like i dont no what im on about.
There saying the decat pipe is causin it?coz the turbo spinning quicker?

And they said coz of he Rocker cover gasket's leaking there could of been air getting in causing the smoke? coz its unbalanced? or that the oils driped on the zorst and smoking ?
