Default Boost Control Solenoid

Need some advice guys. I own a 1992 Subaru Legacy Turbo with the EJ20GN engine. Unfortunately it's not running quite 100%. When I purchased it the previous owner had fitted a bleed valve type boost control switch which was not working and making the car run totally s***. Since then I have re-plumbed in the original boost control solenoid and first of all it ran 110% great.

After a day it didn't run so well probly about 80-90% of what it should be running like. The problem is very inconsistent sometime's its spot on and sometimes its not. Luckily I have a boost gauge which confirmed that when it wern't running well it wern't boosting to it's full potential or it was just all over the place. The car feels very hesitant and jumpy when it's not running right and I can hear the wastegate alot more.

Sooooooo, is it the boost control solenoid OR do you think it could be something else?? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks alot! Jason

(P.S. Sorry about all the detail I'm a Subaru newbie so not sure what to think yet)

Try cleaning the boost solenoid out. Do a search on here for how to do it and what to use. Lots of people use brake cleaner to clean it.
Also make sure you use at least super unleaded
