Default Any good?

Hi folks, i am looking at buying a Paul Taylor/ Scott taylor? chip for my 93 ra, has anyone any idea if they are any good? i have a full decat system and K&N panel filter ready to be fitted as well. Its says the boost is raised to 16.11 is this safe?
I am not looking for a huge increase in power as 280ish is plenty seen as my current run about is a 90 bhp Golf tdi

Thanks in advance.

Scott T posts on here.
He started the whole ScoobyECU thing off which lots of people are now supplying.

Scott was quite conservative on what to push the chip to, so it should be a pretty safe upgrade.
What ECU do tyou have at the moment?
The chip works better on some ECUs

YUp the code will be on a sticker on the ECU case (under the passenger footwell carpet) It should be something like W6 or Z4

If it's a WRX RA then it will have a W9 ECU, which is pretty much the same as a standard WRX i.e same boost, same ignition, same fueling.

If it's an STi RA it will run a SB ECU which has an STi chip in the spare location I use.

The fueling/ignition/boost and duty cyles are all different in this.
The boost duty cycles are very high, but boost isn't much higher then a standard WRX (13.6psi Vs 11.47psi).
This may be due to the 1st STi RA (with an SB ECU) coming with a 34mm Group N Turbo restrictor as standard (I'm not 100% sure of this but it makes sense and I have had a guy who's rallies one confirm it).
The slightly later STi RA running a 7K ECU has duty cycles much lower, as per WRX (so probably hasn't got the 34mm restrictor)
