Where does it say exedy?

Pull clutchs are on all impreza, basically the release bearing is pulled to engage the clutch rather than the normal push type found on most cars.

Get a genuine exedy organic clutch, should be more than man enough, paddle clutchs can be a nightmare to live with around town etc. Only get one if your going to be tracking/dragging the car a lot

I thought Exedy clutches were rated to 340bhp normally, thats what I was assured by their main UK distributer (after mine went 5000miles after fitting!).
Exedy clutch had good pressure plate and a really well made sprunng friction plate, just the material applied to it that wasnt up to the job it was sold to do.

Paddle clutches are more like on/off switches, the springs do not take up as much of the engaging friction/drag, and the material is courser so when they engage it is more direct. If you commute in traffic do not go there, I drive motorways usually so this type of clutch is fine for me, it is just what is needed for drag runs and tracks.

Reconditioned means not genuine, but done right with good material can be as good or better than the original one, just a bit of a gamble. My rally car has a reconditioned friction plate and is fine, cost £30 3 years ago for new material fitting to an old clutch.

They're feeding you a load of bull mate. As Mr Wid says, an Exedy uprated organic would be more than up to those figures, with the added benefit that its just like the OEM one in use. A paddle clutch is a pain to use in everyday driving, acts a bit like a switch!

I use an uprated Exedy Organic and hasnt shown any signs of slip even after 20 hard launches in one day.

Feels like a OE clutch.

I'd probably just stick on a std Exedy Clutch @£120ish if you're not planning further mods. Should cope with 265 quite easily.

Hi All!! Thanks for the recommendations guys.

The Exedy performance organic that we supply is in cars running 400 hp and 380 + torque without problems and getting "normal Subaru consumer testing" IE being driven hard and right up to its performance.

The 3 parts kit is £320.00 bought singly, or £250.00 bought as a group buy in multiples of five. Light flywheels to suit are sold singly £150.00 exchange, with a £50 refundable deposit held until the old unit comes back. [ we pay for the return carriage ] OR £120 multiples of five in the GB. Carriage for any or all above is £16.00 if you ant to fit at home or locally. 12 months no-quibble unlimited mileage warranty.

Fitting at APi is £200 and includes a gearbox oil change. ALL plus VAT of course.

Exedy make a big range of clutches including cheapo factor type ones that have been known to be bought for less that £90 for the 3 part set. You get what you pay for......................

DO NOT use a ceramic paddle clutch in a road car it is unnecssary, rips flywheels to pieces unless you use a steel billet flywheel, and generally behaves like an on/off switch with judder to suit.

If you want to start a group buy please go ahead.

Good Luck David APi Impreza / APi Engines
