Hi there,
I have a brand new vf39 turbo in the for sale section, if this is any good to you, straight bolt-on.

This from the APS website.....

"Most of the VF Series turbochargers are airflow limited to approximately 350 flywheel horsepower. In an optimum configuration, the VF 39 fitted to the US Spec STI will support approximately 370 horsepower."

Spool is similar to the VF30/34 turbo's.

VF39 is sleeve bearing, P17 exhaust housing (from small to large VF 35 is P15, VF24/28/29/30/34 is P18, VF22/23 is P20), same compressor as VF30/34/35. So it flows a little less than a VF34 because of the smaller exhaust housing, and a little more than a VF35. I would rate the VF35 on Optimax at about 320 BHP and the VF34 at 330 BHP, with a TD05-16G at 340 BHP. Some would suggest up to 10% more than this but I would rather be conservative when you see how many claims are not reproducible across different cars on different rollers. You can get up to 10% more by tuning hard with octane boosters.

Any of the turbos mentioned in this thread would be nice upgrades on a TD04 on a 2.0 with not a huge amount to choose between them except I would say the VF22 of which some examples were fragile.

If you want low lag then on the TD05 then careful planning and supporting mods are required. Where abouts are you in Bucks?
