Question engine dies briefly

I had the coil packs changed in my 1994 WRX in January for the first time. since then every time i push the accelerator too hard, it seems the engine cuts out for a spilt second knocking my teeth out. If i press the pedal in stages of about 5mm at a time it is ok. This is depressing as all you want to do is floor it. Scoobytek told me it was "over boosting" and that i neede to change the boost solenoid. I have now changed the boost solenoid and boost sensor to no avail. Has anyone else had this problem or know what it is. My poor car has now done 170000 miles but other than this problem is fantastic and i would like to keep it if i can sort this out.

Thanks

Hi Craig

sorry for the delay, just working out how to use this site. The answer to your question, does it have a boost guage, is no. As for the actuator, i wouldn't know what to look for. Is it something i could replace myself.

Thanks for the response.
