Default Stalling & Tick Over Problems

I have a version 1 wrx sti import impreza and when its at fully warmed up tempreature & you come to slow down to stop at juntions etc it stalls.It also has slight hesitation when slowly putting the foot down and when stopped and ticking over the revs go up and down constantly.Its fine when cold just once it warms up after a few mins.Any idea`s ???????

Should I be the first to say ...


MAF sensor has failed!

Check Lambda sensor also, otherwise take it to a good garage to determine the problem.

Hey thanks for the info - my scoobie is acting up like that and by coincidence so is my pals. Are the replacement units expensive?

couldn't it simply be the idle control valve playing up ?

Surely it would be worth looking / cleaning that before worrying about MAF ?

Default Maf

Changed my MAF yesterday but with no change.Will try idle valve today

Default Idle valve

were is the idle control valve located is it on the inlet manifold with a sensor on the top and a couple og black pipes going to it

changed idle valve still no change will check lambda next

some bull**** on this site man, it wud sicken ya! a lot of scoobs do this, my V4 98 type r idles funny wen stoppin then neutral, up and down for 10 secs then evens out fine..got it check a few times, cleaned idle control valve and maf, helped a bit but still there. i think unless you have a completely standard scoob you will suffer from this sometimes?

Have owned this car for over 2 years and its only just started doing it so something aint right.Also have another wrx and its got similar mods and its fine
