Default Slight judder when cold..

Hi guys..

my 02 sti starts fine and when you release the clutch after putting the car in gear there is a slight judder when lifting clutch in 1st gear...

This is more noticeable when the engine is cold, seems to be better or non noticeable when the car has warmed up,

I have only had the car for 2 months and have a 1 yrs warranty with it, am I about to have clutch failure?, any ideas before I goto the garage?

cheers

Andy

Mine (MY01 Bugeye) does it whenever the weather is a bit damp or cold and lasts for the first mile or so. I wouldn't worry too much - lot's of other owners say similar - seems it is inherent behaviour of Imprezas.

Same here with my MY00 classic, it's a 'known feature' on all of them!

Andy,

Seems to be an inherent "feature" of the motor.

Check the small print in your warranty - will likely exclude clutch components.

Keep her rusty side down and dont worry about it.

To make it better take the car for a decent drive. When fully warm take the revs to 3.5 to 4 k and perform a fast standing start. this will get rid of the residue causing the judder. I find once every 2 or 3 months sorts out my MY00
