Scoobies have perfectly good recirculating DVs fitted as std! VTA ones just sound naff and IIRC there is precious little point in fitting one to a car with under 350bhp.

Leave em alone would be my advice.

My car came with a VTA DV when I bought it, I removed it as I didn't like the noise. Didn't notice any difference in fuel consumption at all.

I'm not aware of any significant reductions in MPG caused by the fitment of a VTA, but I do seem to recall dicussion on here to the effect that they may not be particularly good for your engine. I'm not nearly technically competent enough to understand why. I suggest you give a specialist a ring and ask for their advice.

The noise may sound good at first, but I suspect It'll get irritating after a while.

You will not benefit from any increase in horsepower from the fitment of a dump-valve. The ONLY small benefit can be that the after-market DV responds slightly more quickly. This may be an advantage if quarter mile racing is your thing (this'd b a re-circulating DV...), but for everyone else theres no tangiable advantage at all. Vent to atmosphere dump valves can be of benefit if your car makes well in excess of 400 Bhp too, in some circumstances, but I doubt that it does..... Mostly VTA dump valves are fitted to make a stupid noise, with the added benefit of washing your bores every time you hear it.....
