Default Wheel BHP to fly BHP ??

Had my car on the local rolling road today (System R in Warrington). Figures were 243bhp and about 215 lb/ft of torque at the wheels.

Does anyone know fairly accurately for an UK STi 02 scoob what the fly wheel figures would be from that ?

Mods are:

Ninja backbox
Afterburner decat mid pipe
K&N panel filter

Cheers

Neil

well if you are banging out 243bhp at the wheels then it could be from 280-295 flywheel, cant tell exactly, possible over the 300 mark

Don't the operators run the car down off load to read the transmission loss, and then work out the total engine / flywheel figure?

Seems strange if they don't ...

i always thought it was about 25% loss in the flywheel to wheel bhp so as you had 243@ wheels then just add 25% in this case should be about 303bhp.

if iam wrong somebody please correct.

Had the car (UK STi 02) on the rolling road again today at System-R along with my mates (UK STi 03). This time with a bigger fan. Cars were producing 256 /257hp at the wheels.

I believe there is a session on 13th August at System-R. Will have to see how some other cars perform out of curiosity.

Just like to say big thanks to the chaps at System-R. Good friendly service.

If a "std" 24 - 25 % transmission loss is assumed ( wouldn't that be really hot down there then from all that power ... ! ) then the cars above at around 256 bhp at wheels would be over 320 bhp! What cars were they ( wrx, sti, Type r ? ) and how far modded - turbos, injectors, intercoolers, etc.

UK Sti 02. Only mods are exhaust and panel filters on both cars. Figures look too good to me. Power curves were very close but mine had an area of higher torque in the mid range (13lb/ft).
