my car seems to bounce between 600 and 900 rpm on tickover and last nigght it was sitting at 1500 rpm sometimes and the only i could bring it down was by letting the clutch out slowly and almost stalling to then dipping it it to get it to tickover at the proper rpm ?
please let me know soon as peeps if you know cause if its the maf i can go down to grade a subaru breakers down the road and get a new one today on my day off

Try an ECU reset and check for error codes (try search for "error code" or "ecu reset")
Does sound like MAF though, from my limited experience and reading thousands of scoobynet posts.
Safest to take it to subaru/specialist!
