Advantage of fitting vf35 / td05 turbo to uk my00 classic turbo
Hi, i'm thinking of getting a vf35 / td05 turbo to fit to a uk my00 classic turbo. Just wondering what peoples views on this mod are. Current mods are just afterburner vortex with decat, megane manifold and green panel filter. I no that i will also have to upgrade the fuel pump and injectors, and a tek3 remap when it's all done. What sort of bhp will all this get me. Cheers in advance.

Cold air induction (such as APS cold air kit but you must have a remap before using any boost otherwise it will run lean) and a larger TMIC (such as STi new age) might be nice additions.
I would expect about 320 BHP on the VF35 and 340 BHP on the TD05, both are good turbos, TD05 having slightly higher threshold of boost onset but a bit more at the top end.
If you drive it hard and/or are unlucky you'll break the original 3rd gear.

A mate of mine just had his new age WRX upgraded at the Racing line somewhere in Yorkshire, VF35, injectors and a large top mount fitted then an ECUTEK remap, he's well happy, 320HP at 1.2 bar so yours could be something similar assuming old style scoobs respond as well as new age ones.

Cheers for the responses. Did the car below still have the cats fitted.

Either of those turbo options would be good. I've got a VF34 which has a similar flow rating as the VF35, but is slower spooling. I have a sports cat downpipe (3 inch system) which doesn't seem to restrict things too much (GGR, ?Miltek).
Ditching the airbox for a cone filter will yield additional gains so long as its fed with plenty of cold air (as per JB). From my experience, in agreement with John, I've found that a bigger topmount (Hyperflow in my case) is also a worthwhile improvement over the oem unit (which isn't that bad so long as you've upgraded to silicon hoses and tilted it).
I would personally go for a Power FC + commander rather than an ecutek for the MY00 impreza, which costs only a fraction more if you get AndyF to fit and map.
Go for it!
