Question cars making a funny noise?

Hi all

Went to start the car this morning, started fine but when i put my foot down on the clutch, putting it to the floor the engine or something was making a high pitched squeal then when i took my foot off, it stopped?

the same happened when driving for about 10 minutes, always when i was pressing the clutch down to change gear.

then after 10 minutes it stopped.

it started again when the car had cooled down and stopped 10ish minutes later.

so this is baffling me at the mo,hoping its not to serious.

could it be the fan belt to loose?

or a clutch problem?

cheers for any replys

dannytwo

Almost certainly the clutch release bearing. Unfortunatly it requires the removal of the gearbox to replace. Depending on mileage, it would be sensible to replace the clutch at the same time.
