WRX (2003) Againts a Impreza Catalunya
i got a uk turbo 2000 just full decat and my mates got a catalunya cat back system and i always had a little gain though out the gear changes i modded mine lots since then but hope it gives u an idear
What if the driver of the WRX only weighs 120 kilos and the driver of the Catalunya weighs 250 kilos and has a huge in-car CD collection and load of heavyweight bling? I do know what you are trying to get at here but the bottom line is that a good and aggressive launcher/driver in the WRX03 will beat Mr Average in a 1000bhp Skyline!

250 kilos = 39 1/4 stones!
why would you bother racing if your fat ******* like that!
you'd need a 1000 bhp skyline to get 250 kilo guy moveing!

208bhp for the classic
223bhp for the MY03
Drag factor is better on the MY03
Brakes are better (if you can say that lol) on the MY03
Better pick up on the MY03 due to smaller turbo, though the cat would be better towards the top end (theoretically).
Which one is quicker?
Help yourself

What weight are Subaru quoting for the Catalunya with 17" and A/C, surely not 1235 kg?

cat99, wish I knew, but the book difference between a P1 and UK of the same year is 35 kg on top for the P1 which had A/C, aluminium bonnet, 17" wheels, and a 2 door shell. The A/C compressor/condenser feels heavy, radiator isn't small, and there is a fair bit of pipe work.
99/00 is 215 BHP, 97- UK cars had the same TD04 AFAIK including the new age WRXs up to 2005.
