i have a tapping noise coming from the rear of the left bank of cylinders.sounds like a puffing noise almost like air.doesnt sound mettallic (cams)but is in tune with the engine beat!any ideas!!!

chris,
tapping sounds very different to puffing...which is it?
is 'left' bank passenger or driver side?

its passenger side,and doesnt sound like cams.checked all the leads.no problems there (arking etc).i think it may be the cams tho.

chris,
is your spark plug tight ?? it would explain the puffing sound.
