Default What Engine Oil Do You Use ?

I got a 2003 STi and was told the best engine oil was
Gastrol RS...... Has anyone used this?

What do you think???

What you should use is more important.

5w-40 fully synthetic

Castrol RS 10-60 (note viscosity) is highly regarded. So is Mobil Motorpsort 15-50, and also Motul. I use Motul 10-40.

Ah,,,, how about Castrol RS 0-40 ?? It was recomended by a scooby race bod,,, and it costs enough !!

Yes it is a good oil. Can you give more detail on the car, year, model, emgine size and mods etc?

Yeah its 2003 JDM S.T.i ver8 ..2ltr .. 20k miles no mods, but was told the bhp was around 330 by different people???..

This oil i found in Halfords for half price !!!!! ( not that i go to Halfords all the time !!! ) no one was looking..

0w oil is too 'light' for a scooby never mind a modified one....................a 10w40/ 15w50 full synth will do the job far better..................

I use motul 300v 15w50 on my MY03 JDM STi, as for the BHP, unless its been remapped you dont have much chance of it hitting 330bhp, especially on the JDM map, 300 is a much more likely figure.
