Default WRX Bugeye clutch cost

My clutch has started to judder occasionally, I assume after 42k miles it's due for replacement.

What's the going rate?

Any recomendation of garage in Hampshire?

Cheers

Check out the group buy, you wont get a better clutch for the price.

thats supply only.

Labour would be £150-200

Would also recommend having your flywheel skimmed.

I wouldnt bother changing the clutch until it starts slipping.

Agreed with BOB'5

My OEM Clutch has just been replaced after 60k miles, a great deal of those at over 350bhp.

On examination of the old clutch, it didn't need doing, it wasn't slipping and could still cope with those 6k launches.

I wouldn't bother either

im finding that too, ive done 26 drag launches on my car in total with the OE clutch, with circa 300bhp, and a trackday, not a hint of slip and still bites as if new every time

im not going to do mine until it slips badly......(i think that will be soon eh BOB'5)?

I've had judder on both of my Scoobs (just when clutch is cold in the morning)... MY98 and MY01. My 'workaround' is to slip the clutch lightly for about 10 seconds with the handbrake on in the morning - about 1500 rpm(you can tell when it's warmed up as the engine labours more with the added friction).

After warming the clutch up gently, I don't get any judder, and <POTENTIAL BS ALERT> I think it actually helps keep the clutch plates flatter because I believe juddering itself makes the clutch surface less smooth.

im impressed, see i think theres a lot to be said for changing gear properly....trouble is with the nos i dont know how much that will affect the torque of the car...possibly 50lbft....making around 350lbft...hmm...we'll see only in 3rd and 4th gear tho

I'm still not entirely happy until I can the best possible out of it. I think its capable of a slightly quicker time with a 115mph terminal. Hopefully tomorrow will be a good chance to try it out at the Pod.

Will be good to see the before and after results with gas on yours. Why no gas in 2nd gear though? Are you using a nitorus controller or just operating a 'one hit' system?

well initially it will be a small, one hit system, buti will test it with a varietyof different techniques....as in, with in 2nd, not in 2nd etc.....i know your launches are great, with 1.7s right? mine arent that bad with 1.8 which i could probably just put down to the weight of the car......

i think that using it with 2nd may put too much stress of things, but ill see

oh and i will be switching to a controller as soon as possible yes. The a progressive 50 shot will be enough to shave a fair bit off my time.

Yes, 1.7s.

A 50 shot should see a fair bit off your time. Let me know when your running it down the strip and I'll try and pop down. Will be good to see results change as you make adjustments.

Highly unlikely as I have a wedding that weekend.

Hopefully tomorrow should be fairly quite.
