Question Worth wrapping the centre pipe?

Hi guys

I'm going to have to take off my de-catted centre pipe to weld in a small resonator/silencer. And I was wondering whether it is worth wrapping the pipe before I reattach it.

I've gotr some weather proofing silicone spray to stop it rotting!

Is it worth the effort?

Cheers

Dave.

Having added exhaust wrap to the centre section in an attempt to reduce in car noise I came to the conclusion it was a waste of time and money in terms of noise and performance gains which were nil.

Few hours should sort most of it, otherwise, suspect something dripping onto it.

My car was ran for an hour to eliminate 90% of smoking. Then after a few hearty squits and then slowing to a stop i used to get a strong smell coming through into the cabin and small amount of smoke.

After around 3 hrs use there was no smoke at all but the odour remained for a good few weeks depending on how hard the car was driven.

Its all very worth it though

A couple of weeks before the smell subsides and even then it could smoke after some very hard work.

Definately better today, only noticed a faint smell after a bit of a sprint. So hopefully, a few more days and it'll go completely..!
