Worth wrapping the centre pipe?
Hi guys
I'm going to have to take off my de-catted centre pipe to weld in a small resonator/silencer. And I was wondering whether it is worth wrapping the pipe before I reattach it.
I've gotr some weather proofing silicone spray to stop it rotting!
Is it worth the effort?
Cheers
Dave.

How long does it take for the uppipe to stop smoking and smelling..? Wrapped and VHT sprayed..! Had it fitted today and still smelling/smoking after 1 hour on m'way home. Please tell me it will improve eventually, the smell is giving me a head ache..!

My car was ran for an hour to eliminate 90% of smoking. Then after a few hearty squits and then slowing to a stop i used to get a strong smell coming through into the cabin and small amount of smoke.
After around 3 hrs use there was no smoke at all but the odour remained for a good few weeks depending on how hard the car was driven.
Its all very worth it though
