Default Decat question?

IMPREZA WRX(2003)
When changing to decats will the engine check light come on?
Im gonna change the decat closest to the centre section then the down pipe bit its self later on

Im gonna get the ECU remaped by Scoobyworld so they should be able to sort it.

Also has anyone else had a remap by them?

Removing the centre cat alone should not result in the CEL coming on. If you later remove the other cats (up pipe & down pipe) then you will get the CEL light on, however this can be mapped out at remap.

I did my centre cat back a few months ago and now having the up/down pipes decatted on weds ready for remap on Sat.

I'm not sure as I bought my whole system 2nd hand (6 months old). Scoobyworld do have some good deals on at the moment. Or keep an eye out in the for sale section.

I've just had the up & down pipes decatted today at scoobyclinic ready for a remap on sat at BRD. Quite suprised as it isn't much louder than with just centre decat and BB..!

First time at Scoobyclinic and what a great place. Very experienced scooby mechanics and very reasonable rates. Just a bit difficult to find first time you go..!

Got remap as part of a BRD GB a few months ago, worked out ~£560 if I remember..?

I was going to do the up& down pipes myself but it seemed quite fiddly and I ain't been feeling too good lately. Scoobyclinic did both today ~3 hrs and cost just over £100. Money well spent if you as me..!

BTW so far no CEL..!

PS worth wrapping both pipes, even if they smell a bit to start with..!
