90 000 mile Cambelt Change
Hello
it's time for the second cambelt on my 99 turbo. Just wondering if the tensioner and idlers are usually replaced. I don't want to have to break her down and then find out they're shot as I can't do with out the car for more than a day.
Thanks in advance Pat

in your case just replace them all if you have more time you can take the chance that the idlers can cope for another spin. I usualy take them off and listen if i hear any noise from the idlers if so replace otherwise put them back on
i ALWAYS replace the tensioner anyway

It is worth considering replacing the front crank seal and also get a couple of cam seals sat there waiting as they are not expensive, you can then inspect for leaks etc..
My crank seal went at 100k.. so another cambelt fitted along with the seal
On the next cambelt change I found a cam seal leak on mine at 145,000miles.. but they might not always last that long.
Wonder if the engine will make the next change at 190k.. lol on 26k to go.
