VF35 on a classic - Problems?
I'm trying to get some idea on whether or not the output I'm getting is reasonable and if not then what the problems may be.
I have an MY99 which is running a:
vf35 turbo boosting at 1.3
ecutek3 map
255ltr fuel pump
K&N 57i induction
H&S down pipe and back box
PE sports cat centre section
On the RR at power engineering it produced 277bhp/263lbs.
What output have others achieved and what mods???
And if my output is low, any views on why??
Mark

Standard intercooler possibly.Charge temps high? Did you ask Bob what they were when he mapped it?
CAT in exhaust will still be restrictive compared to free flowing 3" full catless system.

Mark had leaking intake and boost pipework (not known when mapped) so the car is probably a little off.
Mark you'd get better answers if you just explained the history. I've already told you your figs appear low on the face of it although the rolling road used will play a big part of course. Before and after on the same rollers is the best way to measure gains.
Bit of a "lesson" to anyone coming for mapping, check and double check as although I have a good look round the car there are things that can't be spotted easily. The number of times I've spent the first hour redoing other peoples work is far to high.
mailed you re checking it out btw.
cheers

Bob can only optimse what you have put together.
Leaks will only make it worse. IMO getting the right components is only part of the final package, where correct fitting and matching can make a big difference. Only then will the final mapping realise all the improvements.
