fluttering on gear change

was at japfest saturday and heard what appeared to be a fluttering when one of the supras changed gears rather than a whoosh as my current dump valve does , im afraid i am easily impressed into parting with my money and want one - help

Its not a dump valve making that noise.

A cotton cone filter and a front mount might make a similar noise. it couldve been external wastegates .
