have just bought a second hand apexi pfc and commander.its second hand so i presume its still set for the previous car it was on.would it be safe to plug it straight on to my car?the previous owner said it was plug and play on the advert.im a bit sceptical of this!!i have a 98 v4 type r and would like to try and understand how to map the car.its totally standard apart from a panel filter.any advice would be helpful!!chris

Chris mapping is best left to somebody professional, did you ask the previous guy if the ecu is mapped to uk fuel?

ive emailed him and had no reply yet.he did metion in the advert that it was set to 1.14 bar boost and a 7000rpm rev limit.presume this may of been for a wrx and not a sti.ive not fitted it yet a bit dubious at the moment!!

The Power Fc is Preset with settings for the WRX and other Jap Models. you need to go through the settings and select the ones for your car.

It will not be perfect as no 2 engines are the same. best to have it set properly.

you will have to reset the power fc when you put it in your car, the problem you will have is the base map is set for jap fuel and runs a lot of ignition.

you are better off leaving it to someone with the laptop software as the cammander dosen't have the ability to adjust all Parameters.

Default Mapping by Andy F?

Chris, are you anywhere near Sheffield? If I/we can get a couple of people together for mapping then Andy F may pop down to do this for us.

I am prepared to travel some distance but not Scotland.

Cheers,

Wayne.

Banny, good to hear mate!!

Let me know rough dates and I will contact Andy, unless you do.

The only dates that I cant do are the 1st of June to the 13th of June.

I already have a power fc, do you need Andy to supply?

Cheers,

Wayne.

Usually 2 mappings per day as you never know when a real awkward one is going to come along ! It's not the type of job you can rush or leave part done.
I'll go check my email and get back to Wayne with specifics.

Banny, Chris,

Andy has suggested a couple of dates for us. Either the 21/22 June or the 25/26 June.

I could do with it being the 25/26 due to work, but at a push I may be able to make the other dates.

Please PM me your email address and I will send you the details of what Andy has priced up.

Cheers,

Wayne.
