After reading some of the posts on here I thought I best check the gear box oil mmm dip stick dry I'll put some in tomorrow no prob.
I thought I'll ckeck the engine oil while i'm at it even though it had an oil change 4 weeks ago (the day before I got it) and **** dip stick dry. I checked it when I got it -oil clean and on full level no sign of an oil leak and does'nt seen to be smoking so where the hell has all the oil gone

any ideas and what oil sould I put in its a 1993 wrx

Depends on what was in the engine to start with.... your standard oil is a 10w40 semi synthetic.

So you obviously don't check the levels very often, and co-incidentally both show empty at the same time? No offence, but were you parked on a hill? Both levels are quite sensitive to the car being on level ground.

checked engine oil about 4 weeks ago

hands up first time i have checked gearbox

car was on level ground so I cant understand how in 4 weeks its gone from full (it was also very clean at the time)to no even on the dip stick(when I topped it up it was really dirty)only topped it up till I can get it changed tomorrow

seems strange that it become so dirty in a short space of time
