Default Clunking Noise

I have had my MY04 STI PPP for about 6 weeks now and I have noticed a funny noise in the past few weeks.

When the car is moving it is okay but say I am approaching a red light and i put the car into neutral and just coast upto the line at 1 or 2 MPH I can hear this clunking noise which I'm sure sounds like it's coming from the wheels

Am I just been paranoid (hope so) as I hit a huge pothole a couple of weeks ago and noticed the tyre pressure on passenger front (side I hit the pot) goes from 33 to 12 in a week. Car also has the ProDrive geometry setup so would hitting a big pothole screwed that up as well. Can't see any physical damage to the wheel.

Is this noise normal and does anyone else hear it?

If not then what can it be?

Cheers

Hanley

OK, this is a guess but if you really whacked the wheel then that could explain why the pressure keeps dropping off (not sealing properly). But that would be a real good whack - if so, it is possible that the rim is bent and clipping the brake caliper as they are such a tight fit. But you would really have to have given that wheel a good whack - I once hit a lump of concrete about the size of a normal kerb that had somehow arrived in the outside lane of the motorway - the inside of the wheel was obvioulsy bent but I wasn't losing pressure (not a Scoob BTW).

Suggest you get it checked out ASAP.

Turns out the tyre was damaged, small hole slowly releasing air.

They kindly releived me of 150 quid for a Pirelli P-Zero Nero

Thats the pressure problem sorted, see hear that clunking noise when coasting at 1 or 2 mph though

If the rim is not making contact the only other clunk that I have had was actually the rear struts - sounded like it was actually the top mounts loose on the front as if the body shell was knocking and that was at very low speeds only. Sound certainly appeared to come from front but went for a few hundred miles then came back when jacked at the rear, gone for good since new struts. Just a (random) thought.

Nice one mate

I've been working weekends as well for the past couple of months.

Joanne is due next Thursday (**** flapping now )

Just had 2 days off so I got a new tyre yesterday and spent 3 hours today washing and waxing the car - worth the effort as it looks great

I took some photos of it so I know how good it looks clean

We will be in this weekend if you want to pop down - Godfather!!!!

Had similar with mine but I hit a block of concrete, I had to get 2 front tyres and I got the alignment checked at Prosport, the camber on the offending wheel was way out so I got them to do the Prodrive set-up (£85 and a couple of hours). The handling feels great now (after I hit the concrete I found it handled ok but it was drifting slightly).
Flashed you a couple of times scoobyPAT but I was in the Mic'type'RA so dont think you saw me, you probably thought it was a coffin dodger complaining about your exhaust flattening the batteries on their hearing aid Think I will have to get a bonnet scoop on it and some round foggies in the front bumper
