Sound like the front brake pads are worn out.The have a metal wear indicator which rubs on the disc and makes a squealing noise when the pads are worn out

At 3mm that will probably be the the metal tab catching the discs,They can easily be bent when fitting pads. An easy check is to move/bend the taps away fron the discs(i think there normally on the inner pad) and the see if the noise has gone. Mine made a noise when there were less than half worn cos the tabs had been set up wrong.

I've just fallen out of love with my EBC Red Ceramics, after destroying them in 5000 miles and have now switched to Ferodo DS2000's. Seem to have better bite than the EBC's and no discernable noise. Work from cold too, unlike the DS2500's. Both are an improvement on the Subaru OE stuff. 90 quid fitted at www.scoobyclinic.com

Just checked the pads and 10 /10 for advice I'm suprised at how much the inside pad has worn !! there is barely 1mm left at the bottom of pad now I know why they put wear sensor tabs on the inside !!
