Head work
I will be looking for someone to rebuild my version 3 heads, and reprofile the cams etc. This will be for a stage 4 axis engine project, and just thought i would see if there are any recomendations? I am based in london so idealy local, any help would be great ....

What do you want to do exactly?
If they are UK heads then you should be looking at new valve springs, retainers, and possibly even followers if you want to rev to 8000rpm safely, and be able to get cams reprofiled to a worthwhile lift.
If you are planning on pushing the engine hard, then some uprated valves of some sort might be a good investment. The best VFM solution is some STI heads but they don't come up very often.

The heads i have are sti v3 from a type r, the rev limit is 8250. The axis block has a rev limit at 8500, so ideally i would like to have the heads built to a matching standrd. And would be aiming for around 500hp, i beleve i have all the goodies that will let me do this. But my only issue is the heads and cam, if they need to be modified, and to what level for this power?

I would stick with the Sti3 cams unless you want to spend a lot more money. if you think that your budget will stretch to about £1000 extra then there are people that can do these things for you.
Expect to pay (average pricing for decent job), all plus VAT.
£400 for porting
£125 for valve seat cutting and skimming of head
£250 for reprofiling of cams
£250 for valve springs and retainers
£200 to strip, rebuild and re shim with all the above
And that is retaining the STI followers and valves. If you don't go too wild on the cam lift then you can live with the standard springs.
STI 3 heads are supposed to have the wildest of any standard cam, so personally, given the gains you are likely to see by spending at least £1300 more, I would stick with what you have and spend some of that money in other areas.
The other important thing to realise, is that you will not nead to run the engine to 8500rpm from a power point of view. To use that RPM effectively you would need to either run very wild cams and a big turbo and make over 500hp. A GT30 turbo will take you to around 500hp, and will run out of breath long before 8500rpm if you use it with the sort of boost you will be looking at for 500hp.

Thats intresting, so you would leave the heads and cam as they are ? i did budget around 1200 for head work. But if the gains are not going to be that much in comparison to what i am spending, then mabe it is beter left for now.... As far as shims etc would this be advisable, seen as the heads have coverd around 60k. but i suppose the only way to tell this is when the heads are removed...
Thanks
