Or directly from the signal wire of the o2 sensor. Mine has 3 wires - red & black for the heater and white for the signal.

Hi could you send me the diogram as well please, I have a 94 uk impreza engine in a VW Beetle and iv'e just put the lamda sensor in the exhaust but I dont know which cable goes to which pin out on the ecu as I cant find a colour coded wiring diogram any where. Mine also has 3 wires which are the same colours as yours.
Thanks

Mine doesn't have a blue wire, but i guess this is the signal cable which as i understand is my white cable, so i'll put this to pin 5 , but does any one know which pins the black and red cables go to please?

You have a different ECU to the MY98 so the wiring is different.

Do a search and you'll find a diagram somewhere... Also do a search for the Ravensblade site as they have ECU wiring diagrams on there.

thanks for the help but I still can't seem to find a decent wiring diogram for my engine that has a colour code on it. My lamda sensor has 3 wires but all the wiring diograms only show 2 wires going to the ecu. is this correct for my car? one of the cables is a shield, does this have a seperate pin on the ecu to go to or can i put it down to one of the other shielded cables cos these should all be connected to a common earth shouldn't they?

You wont find any with colour codes, at least I havent seen any.

You have 2 methods of picking up an AFR signal. 1 is from the lambda sensor 2 is from the ECU. Note - the lambda wires wont solder and wont be the same colour at the ECU.

If you are going direct to the Lambda, the car has a 3 wire sensor - with one being a heater. The sensor only becomes live once its heated. The other will be earth and signal.

If you are going to the ECU its white with silver stripes - pin 6 on B43

I think its the fifth wire across, the first (pin 1) port doesnt have a wire in it.

Ensure your earth is spot on.
