Best oil for Scooby
Whats the best oil to use? I've only had my car a couple of months and at the time I brought the car I was told it had just had an oil change, but the car now smells like its running very warm, but the temp reads normal and all coolant levels are ok. I was wondering if the wrong oil was used I would get poor cooling and overheating smell???

As for which oils, try a quick search for a user called "oilman" and "motul", "Mobil 1" etc.
There are loads of threads and generaly you wont get much response as it has been asked more times than God has had hot dinners.

I wouldn't listen to what oil man has said personally.
he seems to quote passages from technical specifications of oils, he also only recommends what subaru recommend for their own service technicians. Doesn't take a genius to give out that advice.
Personally I run what the subaru wrc team use. Motul 300v competition 15w50. Some recommend 10w40.
Dangerous to make recommendations in this area, hence oilman playing it safe. listen to what others use and make your own judgment from that.

Just do a SEARCH, use common sense and draw your own conclusion. You won't get a definetive answer as too many people have their own opinions.
