Default Mapping options for pre-97 cars

I have a 94 WRX which I would like to map/chip pretty soon.

I have installed a z4 ecu which has the spare slot for an eprom chip but can't find anyone that does these..does anyone know where I could get one from?

If I can't find a chip to go in the existing ecu then what are the options?

I know you can get cheap boost controllers but I do want to avoid that route if possible.

Any help appreciated.

scoobyecu - do a search on here!

I think Scoobyclinic can provide something similar.

If not, then you will be looking at much more expensive options!

I will ring Scoobclinic to see what they can offer

YYY LOL How's it going?

Scott did my first ScoobyECU chip at around 15.5psi. On my MY95UK I ran 311.5BHP at both SAS & PE

DNB is currently re-mapping it for 440's, 3bar map sensor, FPR.....oh yeah & an STI block with metal gaskets

Lets see what she'll do now eh?

Thanks again.

Saw the Scoobyecu on Ebay too...does seem like a fair bit of cash.

I suppose as these cars get older the tuning options are becoming limited as people move onto newer models which are easier to tune.

420 on Ebay!!! bloody hell that's a lot. I'll keep an eye on Ebay then Scott...doubt I'll be able to bag it as I haven't got much money at the moment.

Ads...I was going to e-mail you guys about getting an ecu chip for my 94 but your reply up there answers my questions...too much for me.

So, it looks like I'm going to have to stay put on the OE boost, buy boost controller or stump up the extra for power FC in the future....decisions, descisions eh.

If anyone can help me with getting hold of an eprom chip or knows anyone that can do these at a decent price then drop us a PM

Thanks

Neil

£420 is out of the ordinary tho'.
I used to supply them about 3 years ago for £60 - £100 but the genuine chips are getting very rare, so I guess there can be quite a demand.
It's alot easier blowing the genuine article too, as you only have one device to get right rather then splitting it accross two ODD/EVEN on the adaptors.

I have a 1.1bar ScoobyECU (16psi?) coming up for sale if anyone is interested. Was in my '94/95 UK Turbo for +/- 3 years which I sold today. Supplied by Dave Wallis but was one of Pavlos maps I believe.

Offers via pm...

Scott.. scoobyclinic are an authorised reseller and comparing what they do to the generic map your selling is laughable!

They can map the scoobyecu for different sized injectors, no airflow meter, posibly antilag and other bits.. Its deffo not a generic map.. infact I'd call it a tek3 for a 92-96 so yours selling on ebay at that price is a joke!!!

David,

FYI the map I am selling in this chip was developed over a period of about 4 weeks, on & off, in a mates car in Jan/Feb this year, so it is not the generic map we started with 3 years ago.

If Scoobyclinics £385 chip isn't 'generic' then why do they also charge for 2 hours R&R tuning at £75+VAT per hour as an extra ???

Anyway...that's my final one sold...end of story....move on....family and new house now comes first.

P.S When you say they can do all that stuff, I expect you mean Pat. Or at least using Pats knowledge. Which we would all like to tap into if we could

You have the choice of OTR mapping inc or 2 hours on the rollers with printouts i would imagine.
