Start with a full decat exhaust and panel air filter, removing innerwing resonator if desired.
Junk the TD04 turbo, as that will never get to 300bhp. Replace with TD05FE or a VF series turbo (VF28?)
Then add a Walboro fuel pump and adjustable FPR
Samco/Prodrive Intercooler hose
Replace plugs for PFR7b's
Either get a TEK3 remap and a 3 port solenoid, or replace ECU with Apexi Power FC, and maybe an AVCR to control the boost
Replace exhaust headers and uppipe with tubular item, or get the standard ones ported.

That should get you into the region of 300+bhp.
If you are then pushing for more than that, your gearbox will be living on borrowed time, and you will need to consider a 6 speed or similar.

That should get you started!

Take a look at the Projects section, as this has been done before

Regards

Richard

I don't know exact prices but estimates on advice above:

Start with a full decat exhaust and panel air filter, removing innerwing resonator if desired.............250-400quid

Junk the TD04 turbo, as that will never get to 300bhp. Replace with TD05FE or a VF series turbo (VF28?)..............300-800quid
Then add a Walboro fuel pump and adjustable FPR.........100 (fuel pump)
Samco/Prodrive Intercooler hose ????
Replace plugs for PFR7b's.........40quid
Either get a TEK3 remap and a 3 port solenoid, or replace ECU with Apexi Power FC, and maybe an AVCR to control the boost..........600-1000quid
Replace exhaust headers and uppipe with tubular item, or get the standard ones ported.........500-800quid

Total: 1500-2500 quid I guess

OK...

If you can pick the stuff up on here 2nd hand you'll obviously save a fair bit...

K&N filter - new - £45
Full decat - used - £300-400
TD05 FE - £300 ish
I/c Pipe - new, Samco -£75
Walboro pump + FSE reg - new - £200 ish
Apexi ECU -Supplied + fitted new - £750
TEK3 - £550-650
3port solenoid - £150 new
PFR7b plugs - £40

6 speed box -£1500- 1800 used

An uprated clutch will also be needed at some stage, as a standard one will give up after not to long at 300hp. You may also want to go for a billet flywheel at the same time

Obviously, you'll need to factor in some labour costs for fitting, unless you're capable with a spanner

IMO, a VF28 will be OK if you only want to get around the 300 mark, if you'll eventually want more, a TD05 18g (or bigger on a 2.5) can be pushed a fair bit further

You may want to consider starting out with a 2.5 lump, making it easier to acheive higher power and torque figures - £1200-1500 for a short motor...then you'll need some suitable heads

As you can see, you'll need quite a deep wallet

IMO,

300 (+/- a few ) is a lot more of a realistic and economical target

Can be reached fairly easily on the standard 2.0 Open Deck block

You will really start to pay through the nose for a true 350 ATW

Search around on here...make the right mods for a reliable 300, then you are well set up to go further in the future if you want.

Might want to consider the extra £££ on Insurance too !

Regards

Think you should start with a knocklink (£160) and an AFR / Lambdalink, that way you know what is going on or when it is going to go wrong!
