Exclamation Major OIL PROBLEM !! HELP !!

Hi,

Im new to this Scooby forum,
I do forest rallying in a 1995 WRX STI.
The car had an oil leak from front crank shaft oil seal when we first bought it, We stripped the front covers and everything off, new oil seal and new timing belt. (old oil seal had broke spring on inside of it)
then, after one rally, we had a small oil leak, again, stripped all front covers, timing belt etc. off and realised, Front crank shaft oil seal again !!
Thinking we had'nt pushed it in far enough last time,(although we are sure we did) We put another new timing belt on it, and another new front crankshaft oil seal(pushed right in for sure) then done the malcom wilson rally and the exact thing happened but worse (ended up set on fire ontop of exhaust)

Any ideas what the problem is ??
Everyone keeps saying it must be a blocked breather, ??
Although, the sump is a bit bashed up, Any ideas ??

The front oil seal is part of the oil pump so perhaps a problem with that?

Is there any damage around sides? (where the oil seal fits)

Default oil leak

hi there , the answer to your oil seal popping out is that the oil pump housing bolts will be loose causing the back pressure in the oil pump , which then forces out the crank oil seal out of its hole , strip it all down again , take the pump off , degrease it , locktite the pump housing bolts, and us a centre punch to notch the oil pump housing bolts?allen bolts , into the housing so they dont come loose again , i am 100% sure this will cure the prob as my old wrx did this numerous times till we did the above , some of my mates have had the same problem , use a new timing belt as they absorb the leaked oil & could slip if you refit the old one , hope this gets u sorted cheers s l

Thanks for the replys !

I have used a New timing belt each time (bloody expensive) thats why i'm getting real hacked off now, and hence need it sorting properly as its getting very expensive now.
Thanks for the advice.

Also, the sumpguard is a poxy standard WRX STI RA one, bit too thin, and the car is WAY too low for the forest, its on the standard WRX STI RA struts (KYB things) But I have ordered new 50mm Drummond Gravel set up now, so that should sort the grounding issues and the bashing the sump issues. New sump guard may be needed.
