Default 2.5 block bhp?

Can anyone tell me what the maximum bhp I can run with a stock 2.5 USDM??

please, do search. it all depends on too many things. common thinking is 400-450hp for a car used often. also depends alot on what fuel you use and the size of your turbo.

Should have said standard internals (pistons an rods). GT30, motec @ 97ron etc.!

John banks has a setup very much like that at the moment so he might be able to give some input when he has it setup fully.

I think I have read EVERY thread on this topic over the last 18 months, and 400 x 450 seems to be the limit for a road going daily driver.

My 2 litre can run 400x340, and is a killer road car, 400x450 is a great, great road car.

I have been in such a car for a short time and this is a superb conversion done sensibly.

John has been there and again so find his threads in Projects.
Worth finding Dyney's thread too.

If you can do it then lucky you!

Not sure the Impreza chassis can tolerate much more than 450 x 450.

Two ends to the scale, look at Buzzards thread for a simple engine swap running low boost but producing good torque, Dyney's is the next level up producing good torque and power and finally John Banks who took the standard 2.5 internals and found the limit at @ 450bhp
