Default URGENT - MAF ID needed, car is in bits and needs to go back together quickly!

Hi peeps, just changing my MAF at the mo (my99 turbo)

my new maf is subtly different to the old one, is this right?

the new on is on the left, the old on the right. The old one has these two metal prongs, the new one does not. on the connector interface, the old on has 5 pins where as the new one only has 4!

have i been given the wrong MAF sensor or will it be fine?

I've dug out my old one and it looks the same as your old one (with pins). I'd say it's just a change in design - a good thing if it's more reliable.

Stefan,

thanks mate, your a star for checking and putting my mind at ease. as it happens, the old one is back in at the mo and i can't be arsed to fiddle again today!

i'll fit the new one tomorrow then seen as it's the same as yours

Cheers

They have changed the design of them to try to make them more robust.

IIRC, the newer ones have a green dot of paint on the outside, next to the connector
