legacy 2.5 into impreza ?
hi i have a 1998 legacy 2.5 quad cam , i was wondering what would i have to do to the engine to put it into my imprezza turbo 1998 with all the turbo etc onto it , the block looks the same as do the heads , so if if put my imprezza inlet manifold and other pieces onto it would it work ? if not what would be involved to do so thanks kirby32

I wouldn't advise is unless you know what you are doing!!
I've not done it, but I suspect it will all fit together physically
But you need to make sure the compession ratio is right to allow turbo charging. It might just be a case of fitting different head gaskets or changing the piston to suit.
You will need a remap to run it and I would expect the TD04 will be a little small for a 2.5
It's a mine field unless you can find someone who has done it to advise you.
If your serioius call Mark Aigin (R19KET) at Lateral performance. He should be able to advise you on the pit falls

A while ago the guys used to put in the legacy crank to the impreza engine and get a 2.5litre stroker. Dont know what other bits you need. Maybe just used the legacy crank and the impreza turbo heads/cams and pistons.
Seemed popular around 1999 when i attended some meets. Dont know why it wasnt more popular.
