Tuning Advice + Possum Link ECU
Hello chaps
Okay....I have the opportunity to purchase a Link ECU at a decent price with all the tuning software etc. Have a few questions. I currently have a 95 WRX with the following mods:
HKS DE-cat pipe 3"
HKS Hiper 3" exhaust
K&N Filter with cold air feed
ScoobyECU with 16.5 psi map.
Forge VTA DV
With these mods I have got 285bhp and 260 lbs ft torque when it was rolling roaded
If I buy the Link what other mods do I need to make to make full use of the ECU's capability without going crazy on spending money ( I am a Scotsman after all ). I already have a MY99 TMIC in the garage waiting to be put on. If I were to just add a Walbro 255 ltr fuel pump and regulator and the IC would I see decent gains from the ECU with proper mapping???? Is this enough to see over well into the early 300's bhp and over 300 lbs ft. Reckon this would be
Or do I need to go further with bigger injectors and headers etc????
I drive the car mainly on fast road and have done a couple of trackdays so I need reliable power...not just mapped to the maximum on the edge.
Also....who is the recommended people to map this ECU properly???? I am based way out in East Angular
Any help you can give me will be most appreciated

A well mapped Link and your mods should get you 300/300 depending on what turbo you have?,
I doubt that you'll have to change injectors at that power.
Ported std headers can give good gains for a small out lay.
As far as mapping goes Bob Rawle at BRD in swindon get my vote and if thats to far for you Pavlo has a good reputation and is located in the south east.

Bob mapped my STI V with a Link back in Jan which I also picked up for a very reasonable price. Be aware though that the first visit would cost around I.R.O. £350 but when you see what's involved on the day you can easily see why.
Any further visits for a remap would be much cheaper at around £110.
You wil need to check that It's the correct one for you're MY.
An uprated fuel pump such as the Walbro, yes but if you read the thread on fuel regs you will see plenty of advice saying that the OEM reg is more than up to the job at the power levels you' looking to run.
I would definately recommend it though, the car not only goes a lot quicker now but it also drives like a dream all the way through the rev range, especialy in slow moving traffic, no need to keep riding the clutch any more !
Go for it, you won't be disapointed.
