Smile Rear Subframe Lock Kit

Been reading my WRX Training II book at bedtime, in the Track Day chapter, page 3 about 1/2 way down mention is made about fitting a rear sub-frame lock kit. The paragraph suggests that the holes and a captive nuts are already fitted on the chassis and all that is needed is a special bolt !!!!!!
Anyone done this and was it worth while.

Thanks in advance.

I have them on my Sti v3.
Came from Whiteline, cheap and easy to fit, but threads tend to be very rusty in bodyshell.
Realy doubt they make much difference to be honest!

Where the rear subframe bolts to the body with 2 bolts either side, the lock kit is a special taper bolt one each side right by the stock mounting bolts.

Whiteline tell you NOT to leave the bolts in place normally as the threads in the body shell are not designed to be stressed this way normally, the kit is meant for a week-end warrior blast.
The local area could see cracks in the shell if left in place.

Yes, I remove(d) them, and forgot to replace them....18 months ago.
I am faster up the hills now so.......didn't miss them!

Fitting them this year to try to stop the whole rear subframe shaking itself out of the car on the start line 'clutch dumping' launch.

Graham.
