Angry Intermittent Vibration

As above I think its from the front. Comes and goes, particularily apparent when cold or on uneven surface. It feels very like out of balance wheel except for the fact I have had all four wheels checked and the fact it is intermittent (sp?). Think it might possibly be a wheel bearing but doesn't have the usual whine I've had with previous cars. MY99 UK Turbo.

Any ideas

Thanks Pat

I had the same problem the other week.
Then the crankshaft pulley fell off !

Worth a check to see if bolt is tight.

Had the same thing with a set of almost new tyres.
Replaced just about everything including a set of AP discs as I thought it couldn't be the tyres as they were new. Swapped them f to r, side to side, no joy. Had them balanced about 6 times still the same.
Turns out that they were out of round. You can balance them perfect on the machine, but you still get the vibration as your driving on an egg shape tyre. (Most noticeable at 50mph+)
New tyres (different make) no vibration. Ahhh... Daz

Thanks for all the replies lads. Checked the pulley no joy there. Going down to the tyre fitters tomorrow to see if I have a damaged wheel. This thing is really starting to bug me. I have a notion that it is a wheel but just wanted to see if anybody had a similar occurance before I fork out for a new set of rims.

Thanks Pat
